Just imagine – you go thru the daily grind, pay for all of the mistakes that you did not make in the 1st place, and still be responsible for stuff somebody else does. Who wants this sort of life anyway? Sadly, the picture I just gave isn’t based on an isolated experience. A ton of folks lead this sort of life. In reality, most people do. Isn’t there something really incorrect with this picture?
To find out if you are one of them, ask if you align your actions according to your own beliefs. Most likely, it isn’t all of the time that you can do what you believe is right and want to do. In truth, you will end up joining the bandwagon, going with flow, and still feel that somehow, deep down within, you are not precisely enjoying the whole thing.
Firstly, you must not mistake selflessness with cowardice. Almost all of the time, we do what we must for fear of refusal or of getting ridiculed. Yes, this could be part of keeping up the peace around you. But then again, perhaps there’s some way you can get yourself out from this rut. No-one is making you be where you are now. In reality, you’re the master of your own destiny, the person responsible for everything. Do you actually wish to see yourself twenty years from now living life with regret? I am sure not.
You have to notice that each life is a very special one, yours too. Regardless of how everyday things become, there are some aspects in your life that are uniquely yours. You want to know what’s most vital to you now. Otherwise, what matters most will soon be forgotten. You can get distracted by other activities like work, bills to pay, business crisis, pressing issues, and just fundamentally an array of activities that takes almost all of our day’s time.
You want to follow a system whereby you make a paper with a list of things you want to do. As dramatic as this sounds, it does help a lot to have an illustration of all your life’s goals. Never forget to look after yourself and your well-being on the way. In fact, we all wish to achieve many things so we can become happy, and happiness is not possible if your health and the relations you have with the folks in your life crumble into dust. Have a look at your list on a daily basis and attend to it, even if it’s just for a fragment of your day.
Life is designed to be an very special journey, and whether you are twenty or eighty years of age, you still have to get into the adventure. Age is unimportant here. Get yourself into the thick of things and shock yourself by learning quite how much you can do. Living your life according to somebody else’s rules isn’t the way to live. The choice has to always come from you.
Like the story of Aladdin, you must find your own sorcery lamp, your own trail to get you to your dreams and to satisfy your destiny. Now, go back to the list that you made and start to see the numbers being crossed out. It’s now the time to start your life’s new journey.
