Folks can regularly be their own worst enemy, particularly when they permit their negative feelings to make synthetic barriers to achieving their goals, personally and professionally. We see this each day – person A begins speaking enthusiastically about a new opportunity and instantly folks B and C shoot the idea down by targeting only on the negative outcomes that would possibly be a result.
In other cases they permit emotions like fury to cloud their judgment for no real reason than because they take everything that occurs too personally. It’s nearly as whether their egos will not let them miss a chance to get upset and start a debate. Combined with a fake sense of indignation they fail to understand that they are essentially making more barriers to resolving whatever the issue could have been in the 1st place.
Even though it’s true in nature that opposites attract, in the real world nothing might be further from the truth. Positive folks have a tendency to draw towards other folks with a positive attitude, and of course negative folks cluster together like faculties of baitfish. The difference between the 2 groups is the positive ones have a tendency to simply walk thru life knowing that whatever challenges they encounter they can simply overcome.
An excellent example of these behaviors is in reviewing two matching tech support requests with diagonally opposite results.
In the 1st case, the positive customer is experiencing an issue installing a bit of software. Quickly realizing that the issue is outside their skill level, they call the support hotline assured that resolution to the issue will be forthcoming. They cheerfully and courteously explain the issue they are experiencing and patiently worked with the support staff to fix it, which occurs in an insignificant ten minutes.
In the second case the negative consumer is experiencing an identical problem. Pissed off and indignant they call the support hotline and instantly launch into a belligerent tirade about the standard of the product and the company that produced it. Whilst the support staff tries to help the consumer, they quickly become pissed off at the client’s refusal to supply the required info.
The consumer insists on escalating problem to a supervisor or chief where the tirade continues. After forty five mins of disagreeing with diverse supervisors and executives and live no resolution in sight, the shopper or threatens to sue or file legal grumbles and hangs up without resolving the installation problem.
Positive folks are never worried about encountering issues with anything. They know that things occur, more importantly they also understand that there’s a solution out there somewhere. Their goal is to simply resolve the issue as fast and efficiently as practicable, which they know they are going to be ready to do some way, somehow.
It’s for that reason that those that think definitely and optimistically are much more likely to achieve success in both their business and private lives. They cannot help but know that everything is going to work out the way they were expecting to, if not even better.
